Community Programs

Serving Our Community

Strengthening families. Empowering youth. Preserving culture. We believe church life should include practical care that helps people settle, thrive, and remain deeply connected to one another.

Holistic Support

Care that extends beyond the walls of the church

Edmonton South Sudanese Alliance Church is committed to serving the whole person. Alongside worship and discipleship, we care about the realities facing South Sudanese families as they navigate settlement, education, employment, parenting, and community life in Edmonton. The church strives to be a trusted place where people can find encouragement, practical guidance, and relationships that reduce isolation.

We also believe that preserving cultural identity matters. Community support is strongest when people feel rooted in both faith and heritage, so our programs are designed to help families build stability in Canada while honoring the language, stories, values, and traditions that shape South Sudanese life.

Community settlement support activity

Settlement Support

We help newcomers navigate life in Edmonton through housing guidance, school enrollment assistance, language support, and connections to trusted local resources. The goal is to help families move from uncertainty to confidence with compassionate accompaniment.

South Sudanese youth mentorship program

Youth Mentorship Program

Our youth mentorship efforts support academic growth, leadership development, cultural identity formation, and healthy peer relationships. Young people are encouraged to lead with integrity, stay connected to their roots, and pursue a hopeful future.

Family support and community gathering

Family Strengthening

We offer family counseling support, parenting encouragement, and community conversations that address the unique pressures many immigrant households face while balancing two cultures and caring for multiple generations.

South Sudanese cultural heritage celebration

Cultural Heritage Events

Community celebrations, heritage days, and shared gatherings help keep South Sudanese traditions alive for future generations. These events strengthen identity, create belonging, and deepen intergenerational connections.

Take part in community life with us

Whether you want to volunteer, participate, or connect, we welcome you. Community ministry grows stronger when people share their time, experience, prayer, and encouragement with one another.

We would love to help you find the right next step, whether that means joining a fellowship gathering, asking about youth support, learning more about family-focused activities, or simply visiting the church to meet people.
